Paula Joyce (Silberman) Newton
Passed into Eternity May 31st, 2018.
Paula was born in Richmond, Indiana and moved with family frequently in her early years, ultimately settling in Indianapolis. She attended Shortridge High School, and then Butler University, where she joined Pi Beta Phi sorority, and met the love of her life, John K. Newton, a Sigma Nu. They married in April 1960. Paula enjoyed the love and laughter of family and friends and mentioned this with great appreciation in her final days. She delighted in many great adventures and worldly travels. Much of her time was generously given to organizations such as Crossroads, Sanibel Historical Museum and other ventures. Also she relished painting, arts/crafts, refurbishing antique furniture and playing bridge. Most notably Paula appreciated the simple things like a gentle breeze while reading a book at Sanibel.
Paula is survived by her husband John, son David, daughter Susan, and grandchildren Lucy, Ken, Harrison and Mackenzie.
Memorial services will be at First Meridian Heights Church, Indianapolis, on August 3rd, 2018 at 1:00 pm.
Charitable donations may be made to the Sanibel Historical Museum and Village
Marilyn Campbell says
To John, Susan, David and the extended Newton Family,
The world has lost a lovely lady. She was generous with her time and talents. I enjoyed visiting she and John in their Sanibel home. She was very good to my daughter, Kathy, David’s wife. She was a wonderful grandmother to Ken and Lucy, helping them gain skills for life. She will be missed by all who knew her.

It was always a pleasure to work with Paula at the Sanibel Museum and Village. And WORK she did!
I loved being at her side.
Larry Stone says
John, David, and Susan,
To say we are sad is the biggest understatement we could ever imagine saying. We will always remember her true beauty, which was her love of having fun, laughing, (usually at John) and her unconditional love of David and Susan because not only did they make her proud but they gave her 4 wonderful grandchildren to “spoil rotten”
Marilyn and I will cherish the many trips we shared to Hawaii, the Caribbean, and our many visits to Sanibel and to our condo in Melbourne Beach.
The hours we shared visiting, reading and playing PIT will always bring a smile and laugh to our hearts. John remember—“The Bull is Good and the Bear is Bad.
Love to all of you,
Larry and Marilyn Stone
